What streets in the city have..
the best shopping/stores....downtown and uptown.....i know in the 50's uptown...but where is the most concentrated areas to go to for a day out?

There are a ton of stores on 34th street....Old Navy, Macy's, H and M, the Manhattan mall is there too.

Broadway. Start at Union Square (14th St) and walk south to Canal St. There is everything from Old Navy, Bloomies and H&M to the fancy boutiques. You can also walk East and West of Broadway along Prince and Spring for great shops, restaurants and street vendors.
