Ooh, I'd like to know too...I had posted this question on the teacher board a few months ago, and no one was able to help me. I REALLY think I'm going to do it, too.

Re: does anyone have a nose ring???
I do! I've had one since I was 17 (15 years ) I actually had it done way back then with a piercing gun (don't ask... things weren't as popular or regulated back when). It NEVER got infected however and I've had a VERY VERY tiny stud in (silver ball) ever since. Sometimes you can't even tell I have it pierced.

Re: does anyone have a nose ring???
I have one. I have a little stud and I love it!!
ETA: The initial piercing did hurt a little but I never had any problems such as discomfort or infections. You have to keep it very clean in the begining until it heals a bit and then you will be good to go. When I say it hurt...I am personally comparing it to my other piercing: tongue, tragus, industrial

Re: does anyone have a nose ring???
I had mine for many years. I am actually sorry I let it close (for my first *serious* job) and I think I am going to get it re-done. They put a metal acceptance tube in your nose, then they mark the spot where the needle will go. The needle has a loop on the end that hold the ring & they penetrate the skin & loop the ring through. There is a slight pinch & then a little throbbing, but overall one of the less painful piercings. It took about 3 weeks for it to heal inside, and only a few days to heal outside. No make up for a week or so though, as that can stunt the healing process. I think I used straight anti-bacterial soap on it & bacetracin (sp?).
Make sure the shop is clean, look for their Board of Health info & certifications, and ask the piercer questions about their experience, etc.

Re: does anyone have a nose ring???
Not to hijack this but...Does anyone know where Barbara went? She used to work in Sayville @ Lotus, then moved to Artful Ink in Bohemia. She is a piecer (sp) and is the best. I cant find her and thinking about re-piercing something. TIA
