Spinoff to spinoff of "you're so skinnny..."
OK this is the scenario - 4 friends. We have all been trying to get pregnant. One is (not me- this was a while ago). She is the smallest of us, got pregnant quickly. She begins to tells us how TERRIBLE it is to lug around her BOOBS which are now a D cup, she can't stand it, they are soooo uncomfortable, etc etc.
The three of us are all DD or larger. We just listened to her incredulously.
Do people even THINK about who they are talking to when they go off on these things?

Well I guess it was a change for her so that is why she had such a hard time with it.

Granted - but look who you are talking to - 3 women who would give ANYTHING to be pg, and who have been lugging around their DDs for years...

ok, when you aren't used to it, it can be a biotch.
but she should not have been carrying on about it to the 3 of you. i really don't think she was thinking then.

Re: Spinoff to spinoff of "you're so skinnny..."
I understand about people not thinking about who they are talking to when they say things, but why is it that if I want to complain about my weight (let's just go back to that one for a sec) to my best friend who happens to weigh more than I do that I'm inconsiderate?
Why does *my* issue about *me* have to become about her JUST BECAUSE she's bigger than I am? Why can't I just complain to my friend like I always did? Does that part of friendship go away if you're not exactly in the same place at the same time?
On a side note, said best friend also told me the D's that she got during her first pregnancy were not all they're cracked up to be, but I'm barely a B so I was envious and skeptical myself.

I agree with you. A good friend should recognize a struggle and should be supportive no matter what.

I agree. This is a change for your friend. Has nothing to do with anyone else and their bodies. IMO, I would think it is unfair to be mad/upset/annoyed at a friend because of this. JMO

I think that friends should be able to say anything to thier friends and not have to worry about chosing their words or being candid.
A friend will listen to you b|tch and complain....you in turn do the same...

I agree with you completely! You should be able to talk to your friends without worrying about them taking everything you are saying and internalizing it.

while I understand that her comment seems insensitive, I am positive she didn't mean any harm by it.

Re: Spinoff to spinoff of "you're so skinnny..."
Well, is that she is complaining about a pregnancy-related ailment to women trying to get pregnant, or she is complaining about a body-related issue to women that are larger than her? Which part is really bothering your friends?
