Assistant story 2...
Check out this email string started by the "assistant" to the EVP of Biz Dev in my company....lol The guy is awesome, and luckily he has a great personality and sense of humor. Let me preface the email string by explaining that the EVP had brought in like 4 boxes of girl scout cookies and the assistant couldn't refrain from eating them all. She then found out he had plans on bringing in more cookies, so she wanted to nip the issue in the bud. Here is how she chose to do that:
"Dear EVP,
Please never ever bring in yummy cookies again. We are an office of cookie monsters and we are out of control. I am gaining weight with every thin mint.
As much as those 10 cookies I devoured today were amazing, I can't be tempted when I'm tyring to lose 10 lbs. I promise I'll give you a cut of whatever $$ my dad awards me for the weight loss. Deal?
Thanks!"
his reply:
"I am sorry but no deal. You see we have MORE than enough cookies at home. And the sad part for you is that this is only the first of three girl scout cookie deliveries that we got. I am sure your father can understand that you're doing this for the good of the children:)"
her reply:
"So that's how its going to be is it?
Fine but I warn you: An alarmingly skinny, balding Indian man with very large bi-focal glasses may just come after you when I explain to him that your lack of controlling your family's cookie expenditures is the reason for my weight gain.
I would be on the lookout if I were you.
That said, have a lovely evening :)"
That's it. She sent me that string and I told her to stop emailing the EVP and get back to work..lol I give her credit, she isn't intimidated by ANYONE!!

I don't think it should matter his status at all. His cookies have nothing to do with his or her job. She is very nicely and quite hysterically making a plea. I think it's great!!!!!

His status matters because a lot of other 22 year olds would be intimidated by someone of his status to even start a conversation with. Actually, I know a lot of 28 year olds who are intimidated by upper management..lol

I agree- I'd be petrified to email my EVP with something like that!
