I do it more frequently than I ever thought I would. The only thing I won't buy on-line is clothes. Need to try them on first. I pay all my bills on-line as well, except for my mortgage. That's a whole other story.

This is so interesting. I bet if I took a poll with "older" people the results would be a lot different....
This is all started b/c two of my Mom's friends have opted to send me checks for baby gifts instead of buying from my registry online...they say they refuse to shop online...I think the older generation is very scared about credit card fraud.
I think that is exactly the reason why many older people won't shop online.
My MIL refuses to ever shop or pay any bills online.
If she MUST buy something online ( which is exactly 1 time a year at Christmas on ebay for something she can't get in the store)
She makes ME buy it with MY CC and then hands me cash or a check for the amount lol 
She swears the first time she does anything someone will come and rob her blind
ETA - Me personally I shop online A LOT. The UPS man is like my best friend. We see eachother every day

My mom has me shop on line for her. She lets me use her AmEX though, but if I'm at her house, she'll stand over my shoulder & say. . .how about gift baskets, can you look up gift baksets?
I will absolutely buy from a registry online, and also other gift items, when I know specifically what someone wants ( a video game, book etc)
I don't buy clothes for myself, b/c I'm too lazy to return if it doesn't fit.
I will buy something that I tried on in a store an need a different size/color.
I don't buy groceries online--I send the DH  .
I bought many things for my wedding online.
I primarily buy shoes on line b/c they don't carry my size in most stiores.
I will buy make up if I don't need to see the color in person.
I'm moving into buying bigger items--I bought my microwave cart on line & I will probably buy my patio furniture on line.

That is so true. My mother only recently started shopping online but for years she refused. I always had to do it for her.

I do, but this is probably an unfair poll since most of us are comfortable on the computer.
I find most people don't shop online in general.

All the time! I actually hate food shopping (such a waste of time, IMO), and I can't deal with the crowds at the mall.

for me I dont do alot online. Im too anxious to wait in the mail. I usually look up things online and then go to the store that has what I want.

I have a car seat on the way to our house right now that I just bought on-line... I would do almost all my shopping on-line if I could. Sometimes, I'll order on-line (if the shipping isn't too much), even if I know it's in stock at a store nearby. Why drive there when someone can drop it off at my front door?
I find it funny that people who are afraid of shopping on-line at large sites that spend tons of money and resources to keep information private and protected, have no problem handing their CC to a high-school kid working at a gas station or restaurant. That kid then leaves their site, has full access to their CC#, signature, security code on the back, etc. I feel safer buying on-line than in person a lot of the time.

i order SO MUCH online. it's almost embarassing how often UPS and FedEx visit me.
i know my credit card numbers by heart - including expiration date and 3-digit security code

My mother refuses to buy almost anything online. She did buy a few things from ebay a while ago, but she is soooo afraid of someone stealing her information.
My mom is the same way!
I shop online a lot.
