IVF Q
After unsuccessful IUI cycle and the decision is made to do IVF, can it be done the following cycle or is there a waiting period?

Our last unsuccessful IUI was in March. We took April off and will be starting our IVF cycle next week. I think it depends on your doctor - there may be some test they want to do before they start a cycle.

We had a wait because we had to have other tests run .... and we switched clinics.

If I were you I would wait, give yourself a little breathing space and a chance to mentally prepare yourself, my feeling is once you start the ivf you will be so focused on it you won't want any distractions.

we had lots of other tests and classes to attend, so you may have to wait, or if you can get in all the testing in before the next cycle.

We knew our IUI was going to be our last attempt and most likely wouldn't be successful, so we planned to start the IVF the very next cycle.
So we took all the classes and ordered all the meds figuring the worst (best) thing that could happen was the IUI was successful and we wasted some time.
It was not successful, so we went right into IVF without having a down cycle.
Not every clinic will do that for you and, like some said, you may need the mental check-out for a month or so to get yourself ready.
