PLEASE give me some ideas!
My girlfriends and I (all married with kids) want to go away for a night in July. We need ideas of where to go!!!!
We thought of AC but don't really want to have to spend extra $$ gambling. We want something within 2 hours or so. We want a BEACH and/or pool. Maybe a bar for some drinks at night but no place YOUNG (we are all 35+). We really just want to relax without having to run to crying babies (we'll let the daddy's do that for the night )
We thought of maybe one of the Hamptons (not West or Bays - we spent much of our younger years there). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

gurneys, or a look into a spa weekend. Or even something as simple as a local hotel or one in the city, go to a day spa, then find a place for dinner and a lounge or dancing after.

What about Mohegan Sun? There is so much more to do there besides gamble. They have a gorgeous hotel/spa.

for my 30th the girls and I are either going on a one night cruise out of New York to no where, or we are getting a room at the MAnhatten Club...and pretending to live life the way we did before we had kids.

I've done the east end with friends but I have also done a single night in the city as well as a great B&B in the Hudson Valley. The Hudson Valley was the most relaxing we hung out, went to a spa and ate dinner at the Culinary Institute.

Mohonk Mountain House—absolutely beautiful and the spa is great.
Or I would do a night in Manhattan—get a room, go to a spa, have a great dinner, maybe a show...
Or there's always the wineries out East.

I second Mohonk mountain house. Steven King goes there to write from time to time. It has spas etc. the only catch is no AC.
I know it isn't far - but what about something like going out on the island for an afternoon of wine tasting and a lunch somewhere on the water (seafood barge is near the wineries) followed by an evening at say the Hyatt Windwatch I think they have a pool and you can have an afternoon of no kids that is relaxing and fun followed by a nice evening at a decent hotel?
