Silly question...
So, we have been "trying" since Aug.2004 - on and off due to job changes etc. After 2 years, my DH had surgery to correct a blockage. The surgeon said this should help. Well, almost a year later, still no . Ok, so - I need to go to the gyn and he needs to go get a follow up SA done. My question is, should I just skip the GYN and go straight to an RE? I am not super thrilled with my old GYN but she does have my records from when I did my original testing with an RE (who is now retired). That was 2 years ago. I just want to start taking the right steps bc if we have to do IUI or IVF I want to get started. Should I just go to the GYN and have her refer me to an RE?

Re: Silly question...
I would go to an RE too, but I would also get your records from your GYN. I think it may give your RE a more comprehensive overview of both you and your husband. It may also save you time. I picked mine up myself and I looked through them. Sure enough, some very important things were left out. You may have to submit that request in writing. I did.

Re: Silly question...
I agree with Lisa, and I would also get my old records. The RE will probably retest just because your records are two years old, but he/she will want them for reference.

Re: Silly question...
Make sure your insurance doesn't need a referral, then head to the RE.

Thanks ladies....that is what I was thinking. I will get the records from my GYN and my DH's urologist and have them sent to the RE before my appt.
