Torrington CT??? Anyone ever hear of it before?
Is anyone familiar with Torrington Ct?
I am getting so many different stories about how far it is from NYC. We want to go tomorrow for a day trip but we arent able to leave too early and I dont want to spend the whole time driving..anyone?

It's up by DH's cottage in Coventry...very pretty and old area.
ETA: As MrsPorkChop said, it's about a 2 or 2.5 hour drive.

I used to live about 35 miles southwest of Torrington. From NYC I think it would take between 2 and 2.5 hours to get there. You'd probably want to take the Hutchinson Pkway to 684, 84 East to Exit 20 (Route 8 North). Route 8 will take you right into Torrington.
