Re: Wineries on LI
My fave is Raphael - but that's because we got married there!
Martha Clara, Pindar, Old Field, Osprey's Dominion, Castello di Borghese (maybe last year's bachelor will be visiting family!! ), Bedell Cellars --- there are so many and each has its own charm...

Re: Wineries on LI
We like "friendly" vineyards because we don't know a lot about wine and we enjoy sitting outside just as much as the wine itself. These are vineyards we like:
Bedell, Corey Creek (which is part of Bedell, I think); Palmer; Pugliese and Martha Clara were also really friendly. Jamesport has a cozy tasting room. Pindar is a madhouse.

Re: Wineries on LI
I live five minutes from Sound Ave so I go w/ my girlfriends pretty often. We love corey creek because it has a great vibe, bedell too, same owners, great outdoor area & beautiful views. Borgese is small & very charming-the owner is a doll. He's last year's "TV bachelor's" cousin. We were playing the piano & he was singing in italian its a great day trip, you can eat lunch in Mattituck or greenport & all of the farm stands are nurseries are open now too!

Re: Wineries on LI
They're all great - there are so many - stay on the main road - the ones on sound ave are smaller. The first one you'll hit is Paumanok and we found that they are a little snobby and give you a drop for a tasting. Most of the wineries are charging now - a few years ago you could hit up so many for free! Rafael charges a lot for tasting but their property is so beautiful
