Re: Ok situation with a friend of mine....
I wouldn't sever the friendhip over this particular fight, but if you already had it in mind to let the friendship disolve, then just don't call her anymore. I had a friend who totally changed after she had her son. She expected everyone to live and breathe her son and since I didn't, that was a reason for her to be angry. I didn't care though, so I didn't get upset, I just let the friendship go (there were other things going on also). Some people in general think the sun and moon rises and sets with them and everything in their life. Was she like this before? Again, if there are other things going on, let the friendship go, or just keep the friendship casual if you don't want to totally push her out of your life.

MY whole thing is, if somethign bothers you - get it out and get it over with. The fact that she is going on and on would bug me too.

I think it's a stupid reason to be mad personally. I don't get angry if people forget my own birthday.
I think if you knew that she was hypersensitve (and cared about it), then you would have made the effort. Sounds like you were thinking she was too high maintenance to begin with.

The going on and on about it would bug me. I would just say, "I apologized, I can't un-do it. If you are not going to accept the apology, there's nothing else to talk about."

Re: Ok situation with a friend of mine....
thanks ladies
She was not like this before she had a baby. I understand that her daughter is HER life but come on give me a break! It upsets me that she thinks I need to stop EVERYTHING for her or something!
I don't WANT to be friends with someone like this

Re: Ok situation with a friend of mine....
I guess it depends on how close you are.
If my BEST friend didn't acknowledge my child's birthday, I would be bothered, to be honest.
I always send my close friend's kids cards and presents.
If you are more casual friends, no big deal.
