how much more do you typically spend each month (utilities, insurance, repairs, etc....)

on LI: Gas & Elec: $300/mo (just me and FH and we are gone all day)
water: cheap, max 15/mo.
Cable/Phone/INternet: $118
Food: $400?
Insurance: $75/mo

we didn't buy a house yet, but are about to and am figuring...
approx 100/month - ins
approx 150/month - gas
approx 100/month - electric
approx 700/month - taxes
approx 170/month - phone/cable/internet
approx 500/month - food
and water, but i'm not really figuring that in, because it's barely a bill
then you have to figure in expenses for repairs/renovations/supplies to take care of the lawn, gardening etc etc etc

We are in a condo. Minus out our mortage, here is our monthly condo costs:
$175-Maintance
$200-$400-Electric (we have electric heat so its high)
$18-sewer (only pay every 3 months a total of $54)
$28-alarm (only pay every 3 months a total of $84)
$49-Verizon Phone
$30-Cablevision Optimin Online
I believe that is it for us.

We're in a co-op, I voted for the wrong one by mistake .
I'd say between maintenance and other bills - about $1,000.
