tipping spinoff

do you tip the people at baseball games that give you your beer?

being a bartender i guess i should have known better, but i didnt think you had to.

my friend was tipping them and then later on we went up for a round and were fighting who was gonna pay and the woman said "well whoever doesnt pay gets to leave the tip"

so i guess they EXPECT tips.

do you tip them? if so, how much?

i just would leave my change. my friend left $1 a beer.

Re: tipping spinoff

We don't only because we don't leave our seats to get beer... maybe that doesn't make a difference, but IMO, I'm already paying $10 for a Bud Light, he's not getting a tip...

Re: tipping spinoff

Yes I do. usually $1 a beer. It's insane though. The cost of everything at the game is ludicrous but it's not the vendor's fault.

Re: tipping spinoff

I used to work at Nassau Coliseum and Shea
I didnt expect tips because the cost of the food is so astronomical, but I still got them

On concert nights I could walk out of there with 100-150 bucks. It was nice extra money..especially when I was 19 years old!

Anytime someone expects or asks for a tip I purposely don't give them one...I think it's so rude. I was at Hogs and Heifers in NYC once when the bartender actually got a MEGAPHONE out from behind the bar and started screaming at the patrons to "start giving me f*cking tips" - I was so offended. Anyway, sorry to go off track...but sometimes I think tipping gets out of hand.

No, I work for tips and if Im paying $10 for a beer, im not giving them a dollar more, between parking, gas, tickets. It gets out of control.

many nights as a bartender I would have loved to yell that out!

but I do think that's part of the thing there- it never would have flown where I worked!

Re: tipping spinoff

I only tip the vendors who lug the food/drinks around in the stands and usually it is a dollar. If i get up to get the drink, I don't tip.

I do the same!!! But my husband will tip the inside counter people as well. We normally do a few dollars for a few beers.

Re: tipping spinoff

I'll have to ask my DH but I don't think he tips the people who pour the beer. He does tip the people who walk around selling it.
