How to get taxes reduced
What is the process in getting assessed value lowered in town of islip. Anyone know the process??

you have to do some research - go to town hall and find out the comps in your neighborhood - the market value of similar houses within a mile or so from yours. .if your house is assessed for more than they are selling for than you can greive the taxes..
or if you just bought your house, and you bought it for less than it is appraised for you can grieve the taxes using that information.

As is the case in Islip homes are assessed based on market values in the $280K range when in reality they are selling for $400K. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Has anyone grieved Islip town taxes?

I contacted Mark Lewis to grieve our taxes. I was going to do it on my own, but honestly....we have soooo much going on right now that I know we'd lose track of it.
