NC girls ?

Hi,
My DH and I are thinking of moving to NC because some of our family is going there. Can you girls that moved from NY to NC help. Are there many jobs? And is it really much nicer then NY? We are looking the the Willow Spring area. Please let me know your likes and dislikes?

Not sure where Willow Spring is located.

As far as jobs, I think your field has everything to do with it. We moved down here because I was an Admin Assist for investment bankers, while DH was in restaurant management. Both job fields down here are big.

My DH is constantly being recruited for a post office test, I think with all the relocation, that is something they are in need of.

Teachers...
Police Officers...
Construction...

Everyday I like it a little more down here. DH LOVES it. I like staying at home with the baby, so its a great place for us to be.

We try and do NC things...we go to the mountains pretty often. DH is into mountain bike riding, there are tons of tracks here, so he does that, while I hike with the baby. Last summer, we went to Myrtle Beach a lot. We went to Wilmington for a ghost walk, shopping in Charleston, overnight visit to Gaitlinburg, DH did tons of skiing this season. Next up is Savannah. Really, its an ideal location. Ocean, mountains...FL is 10 hours away, NY 10 hours away. Its going to be what you make of it.

We aren't homeowners yet. We can't commit to an area. DH hopes to get a transfer to Asheville within the next 2 years.
