Gift for communion?
How much do you give for a communion gift? And if you aren't able to go to the communion, would your answer be different?

Re: Gift for communion?
$50 Savings Bond
I think that's what IL's usually give- I personally, have never been to one.
But I would either do that or just a $50 check-- well, actually, it depends on how close the person is.
If it's like a little cousin or cousin's child or more distant relative then yeah 50 is fine but if it's someone close maybe more like 100?
I remember my close Aunts and GP's giving me like 100 bucks for my Communion.

Re: Gift for communion?
we usually give a check for $50.
If it was a relative, immediate niece or nephew, it would be $100 plus a small gift.

Re: Gift for communion?
A girlfriend from HS invited us to her son's communion. We weren't able to go, but we sent a check for $50. I think even if we were going, the gift still would've been $50.

I agree....although I would rather have $$ for my child, because bonds now have a higher maturity rate
