Could you imagine if the paparazzi...
were as prevalent in NY as they are in LA? I watch these videos on x17.com and I'm truly amazed. Why isn't it like that here in NY? You think it's because LA is more of a driver friendly city and NY isn't? Whatever it is.. I'm glad I don't live there!

Because they'd be getting slammed by people getting off the train, kicked by people like me if they didn't move out of my way on the way to my office, and eventually pushed into traffic. It wouldn't be pretty. 
I wonder if that's a celebrity fantasy?

I also think that it's easier to 'hide' in NYC - the city isn't so paparazzi friendly as far as driving and mass transit. New York magazine online has a map of general locations where some famous people live, but you'd be very obviously stalking them to get what you want.
Whereas in LA, you've got a super concentration of celebs who frequent Robertson Blvd and the Ivy (plus many other places like them) maps and tours of stars homes. It's easier to stalk them because LA is so spread out --- there are so many ways to track them down.

ITA. It's bad enough wading through Ranger fans on my way to work. Paparazzi would be shoved.
