Does anyone have Nationwide for Homeowners
I just recieved a quote from Nationwide for homeowners and it is about $600 less a month then State Farm. Is Nationwide a good insurance company?

I have Nationwide for my Homeowers & Auto. They are great. My DH and I have had them for auto for about 5 years now. We pay so little and they are so fair and easy to work with.

I do for almost 10 years now. Absolutely no complaints (but I have never filed a claim either).

I have nationwide for auto, but i was told they are not writing new homeowners policies for LI anymore... are you on LI?

we were told them same thing. As of 3/1/07, Nationwide wasn't accepting new policies for homeowner's insurance, so our agent started our policy 2/28/07, a day before and actually 1 week before we moved in. It didnt' change the price at all. Right there, our agent helped us so much!!

ETA: are you sure it is nationwide? I know my agent is using "subsidiaries" to give their customers quotes.

that sure is strange...
I was just at my agents office on wed and he didn't tell me anything about them writing policies again...

I just put a call into him and when I hear back from him I will ask him specifically if it is Nationwide. Maybe he kept saying Nationwide but maybe he is just trying to pull something over, but if I flat out ask him he will have to tell me.

This is true I have Nationwide(Steve Cali in Lindenhurst-he's great!) and he told me that they are not insuring any new clients but will not cancel current customers.
