LIRR problems!!

I got this notice at 10:30am

Service is temporary suspended between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma due to

signal problems from a transformer fire in the vicinity of Pineaire.

and this one about 2 mins ago...

Service is temporary suspended between Hicksville and Ronkonkoma. Bus service is being established to operate in place of trains.


Why do I have a feeling that my commute home tonight is going to be a MESS???



I do hope that the 5+ hours from now until I have to get on a train is enough time for this to be cleared up!!!!

Service has been restored on the Ronkonkoma Branch between Hicksville and Ronkonkoma with residual delays. Service had been temporarily suspended earlier on the branch due to signal problems related to a transformer fire in the vicinity of Deer Park.

Sorry just saw this... hopefully by tonight, the problems will all be resolved and trains will be back on schedule!!

I'm on the Long Beach line, but a delay on any line tends to delay ALL the trains!

the commute home tonight is uneventful for all!

OH NO!!!! I hope this gets cleared up by tonight. My husband is in the City for a seminar and he is DEFINITELY not adept at train travel. The last thing I need is a call from a raving lunatic yelling about how ****** up the system is. OY!!!!
