Anyone been to a wedding at... (NJ)

Meadow Wood Manor in Randolph, NJ??

Just curious...

If you did, did you stay in a hotel or anything nearby?

I believe this was newly built (within the last 2 years). Is it on Route 10? Never been there but it looks nice from the outside if Im thinking of the same place. Sorry if that wasn't too helpful :)

I've never been to a wedding there but, when we went to a wedding in that area, we stayed at the Hanover Marriott on Rte 10.

It should be nice now, they were totally renovating when we stayed there (the morning we were there, they chose to remodel the room right above us, great when you have a hangover!)

yeah-- that's where it is...

Are you familiar with the area? Trying to decide if we should stay over-- we live in Hoboken and might not want to drive the 45 mins back home after the wedding... And the church is a few hours before the reception starts.

the marriott seems to be like 20 mins from the place-- the Hilton Garden Inn is like 2 miles... If we are going to spend the money, we want to be as close as possible, otherwise we'd just drive home.

yes, I'm very familiar with the area. There is a Marriott and a Hilton around the Parisppany area. Both are right on route 10 (about 5-7 miles east of randolph - close to route 287). There is also a Hilton Garden near the Rockaway mall which runs along route 80. I can't think of anything else nearby. Did they give suggestions on where to stay?

Re: Anyone been to a wedding at... (NJ)

thanks-- they did not put anything in the invite-- I deduced that they have rooms at the Marriott because they included that on the direction card-- although, it seems a bit far from the reception-- maybe it's in b/t the church and the reception hall.

I did a search on expedia, and the Hilton Garden Inn came up as closest...

I just figured for $99, rather have a 5 min drive and even maybe take a taxi vs the 45 mins back here.

If the Hilton Garden you are referring to is in Rockaway, the one thing I would bear in mind is that mileage wise it might be closer than the Marriott, it actually would probably take you more or less the same amount of time to get there. The Marriot is a straight run up route 10. To get to the Hilton you have to drive through a few sides roads (not as direct) which would take more time.

it is the Rockaway one...

How many mins would you say the Marriott is from there ? Is it really 20 mins? If so-- it doesn't pay for us to stay over. I thought the Hilton would be like 5 mins.

i would say that the marriott would take 7 - 10 minutes depending on traffic lights. The hilton would actually take more like 15 - 20. Doesn't make sense when you look at actual miles but they are in different directions and you would take different roads to get there like i said. Hilton is North, Marriott is east.
