Committment Issues?

So my husband and I went to about 7 open houses yesterday and we saw a couple houses we liked. Don't know if we liked them enough to put a bid on them, but they were nice. One house we liked, the realtor hinted strongly that the sellers were very flexible on their price because they need to get out (own another house in another state).

However, I'm freaking out about buying a house and the $$ committment. I'm terrified that we won't be able to afford it. Does anyone else feel that way, and how can I get over this?

We definitely felt like that. But I think a lot of it has to do with not finding the right house. Once we found a house that the BOTH of us felt the same way about, that nervous anxiousness dissipated. It didn't go away -Chat Icon , but it did lighten.

We wrote down EVERY monthly expense and budgeted our incoming money. Once you do that, you'll know what you can afford and what you can't.
YOu'd be surprised at what you are capable of.

Good Luck!

YES!! That feeling is totally normal, I think everyone makine a huge purchase like a house feels that way!!
Don't let the realtor make you feel any pressure though, if you are still feeling unsure, keep looking!

I definately felt that way. You should sit down with your DH and create a budget of all of your monthly expenses, both household (electric, cable, gas, taxes, etc.) and personal (dinners out, getting you nails done, etc). Then figure out what you can afford so that you are more comfortable with what you are spending. Good luck!!
