I agree with the garages and the lighting
I see alot of new construction houses down south with the garages too big and facing the street- I like when they are more hidden
and we had receased lighting in our house- and it worked- until I wanted to change my furniture around and then it didn't

i agree with all of them except the recessed lighting. it can be overdone, and I agree not in the bedrooms, but is perfect for kitchens and dining rooms!

I hate when you see a house and really, you don't see a house, you see all garage. Guess people really pride themselves on their cars!

that is something rarely to be seen on LI though. so many houses here don't even have a garage or only have a 1 car.

Very interesting...I actually agreed with all of them. Weird thing is I thought I was the only one who hated gigantic kitchens and great rooms (I really liked the kitchens and great rooms done right that they showed)

I see them a lot...mostly in new construction.

I do agree with some of these. However, I do like having recessed lighting in the kitchen. I agree that it doesn't belong in a bedroom.

I agree with a lot of the points.
My neighbors have a 3 car garage on an 1800 sq ft home (new construction), and it looks a little ridiculous, IMO.

I agree with the garages. I hate when the garage is the focal pt of the house. Even in a one car garage home, if the garage extends further toward teh road than the house, it can become a focal pt. It is one of my pet peeves.
I would love a bigger kitchen. Also high hats are really convenient in some rooms - like our den, basement and kitchen (and we wish we had them in the living room) - where we don't want to overload on lamps.
