Vent
A little background:
My sister lives with us on her school breaks, since she can't afford to fly to and from Arizona (where our mother lives). this is something of a strain for us, since we have a 1 br apt. But we do it b/c she is my sister, and she watches our cats if she hapens to be in town and we want to go away.
Dh and I have a wedding to go to in late May, we'll only be gone for a Friday and Saturday, coming back on Sunday afternoon. I asked my sister WAY in advance to come and watch the cats, since she will be out of school. She agreed.
I just spoke to her and she changed her mind, she wants to go to Arizona to see our Mom for two weeks and wouldn't be able to watch our cats. She said she's sad that she wouldn't be able to go to AZ until Christmas. ***? She knew that when she agreed to watch my cats. 
I'm so pi$$ed off. We've bent over backwards to help her out and she pulls this crap.
If I cant find a sitter, I will have to board them, and I hate the thought of doing it.

Awwwww  That sux. I understand why you are pizzed.
Is she young? It could just be immaturity. Not fully appreciating and realizing that people are relying on you.

That's really selfish of her. I have two yorkies, and I depend GREATLY on my family to watch them when we go away (which is not a frequent thing). I'd probably have to cancel my trip if they backed out on us. I had a bad experience boarding my two - and it was at the vet where I worked PT no less!
I'd conveniently bow out of something that you've said you'd do for her. I'm spiteful like that.

Not very nice of your sis to pull that.
Honestly though, you really could leave the cats for a couple of days- they'll be fine. I have 2 and we've left them for a few days many times. We just made sure they had LOTS of food and they have a huge self-waterer. We also use 2 litterboxes.
Cats are pretty independant creatures- they don't need the kind of care that dogs do.....
