Basketball hoop

This is prob more of a question for the dh's on this board...but dw's feel free to chime in!

I want to get dh one of those portable (not in ground mounted) basketball hoops for father's day/anniversary. I know that he would totally LOVE one, but when I looked online at Sears they range in price DRASTICALLY - from like $2k to $400.

I want him to be totally surprised so I would rather not ask him which one he would prefer or which features he would like so I was hoping someone that already has one of these might be able to share their opinions.

I thought this one "looked" really nice, but not sure if it meets the functional needs...

DH is approx 5' 11,'' husky build. This will sit in the rear of our driveway in front of the garage.

I got one for my brothe i n law for his b-day it is the one you fill the base with water. he LOVED it. I got it at Modells for like $250.00 I think. It was a few years ago.

I work in a sporting goods store and we used to sell portable basketball systems so I'll tell you what I know.
Anything under $1K is reasonable. You want a good quality hoop that can withstand the abuse. The one you are looking at looks great. It has a shatterproof regulation backboard and adjust to 10 ft. which is regulation height.
I think it's a good choice and I probably wouldn't get one much cheaper since it is for an adult.
