Re: Growth Sono??
I think its only if neccesary, like measuring small or big.

Re: Growth Sono??
I think it depends on your Dr. I had one at 37 wks- and I'm measuring right on target.

Re: Growth Sono??
I asked my doctor the other day if I'll get another sono before the baby arrives. He said "only if you're measuring large or small", which I'm not...he said I'm right on target. But then I wonder, how do they estimate the baby's size then? Or do they only do that for girls that have the growth sono, because otherwise the belly measurement would be off if baby was a bit larger or smaller, and that would send you for a growth sono

Re: Growth Sono??
They usually only do one if you appear to be measuring large or small...usually by the fundus height..or if you have an underlying issue...GD etc.

Fundal height. They literally measure your belly with a measuring tape. Maybe it is a special one, but it looked like a regular old one to me.

Re: Growth Sono??
I don't get one either.
It's kind of upsetting. I'd like to be sure everything is okay.
But I guess the fact that I don't need one means everything IS okay.

I feel the same way!! I'd love to have one too, but am thankful that everything's been ok that I haven't needed one.

Mine wasnt even enjoyable b/c I had freaked myself out so badly about how he was measuring small.

they can also estimate just feeling through your belly. My midwife did that with my first - she was off - but so was the sono.
