May Need An Apartment

For my parents. It's time to bring them back to NY.

Can anyone tell me what I could expect to pay for a 1 bed 1 bath ground level with laundry? Could be Nassau or Suffolk.

We pad $1260/month for our apt in Suffolk - it included heat and water. just had to pay LIPA and Cabevision.

Note: We had a top floor apt, so it was an extra $50 or so for that.

FM if you want information - we lived in the Heatherwood Apt. Complex.

Re: May Need An Apartment

Would they possibly qualify for senior housing. I would contact the county department of the aging and check out guidelines as well as the town you live in (they may be able to qualify in that particular town using your address)

Hope it all works out.

Re: May Need An Apartment

Yes, they would qualify, but they would have to be on a waiting, list. My aunt, 80 years old pays only $400 in an apt o Deer Park. She was on the list for about 2 years until it kicked in. That would be sweet. I would sell their condo and help them with rent but if they were only charges $400 per month, they could do it by themselves.
