Re: All my NC ladies!!!!
I remember getting my quote...then they asked if I wanted to pay it in installments...I said what? break it down weekly?
The lady said no, monthly...I was like what? This is for 6 months! I thought she was telling me my monthly rate!
Its outstanding. One thing though that took us by surprise, you get a tax bill for your car.

Re: All my NC ladies!!!!
Amen! My insurance bill decreased 75% from when I was in NY. But as Janice said, dont forget you do pay personal taxes on the car (still nothing compared to the insurance I paid in NY!)

Re: All my NC ladies!!!!
Does that tax bill have to be paid yearly? I also heard that the registration fees can be astronomical...my sister, who had lots of extra money from the sale of her house here in Farmingdale, decided to buy herself a Benz when she got there.
She wound up paying about $3500 to register it!!!!

Re: All my NC ladies!!!!
Our insurance definitely went down. We found our registration fees (yearly) to be approximately equal to one month car payment.

I used to live in NC. The tax on your cars is paid annually. However, you will have to pay tax on the value of your car when you move down there b/c there is no reciprocal arrangement with NY. Ugh. When I moved to NY from NC, I had a Civic with 85,000 miles on it and I had to pay almost $1,000 to register it in NY!

Yes my insurance was low with Geico when I lived in ny, WHEN WE MOVED TO nc IT WAS EVEN LOWER EVEN WITH OUR NEW CAR ADDED ON. We were shocked with the tax bill though and thought it was ridiculous so we registered the cars in Fl. using my mom's address. We decided we weren't going to pay an extra 700 bucks a year just for 2 cars.
