Working out

DH and I got an elliptical machine a month and a half ago and I am obsessed with it! Don't worry...I'm not overdoing it, but I have used it probably 5 times this week for half an hour each time...it just makes me feel like my old "self" again and it helps me to justify all the cookies and ice cream I've been eating Chat Icon Plus, I know it will be easier to get my old shape back after delivery since I have worked out during the pregnancy.

Just thought I would share my happy thoughts. Chat Icon

i know what you mean- i was very active pre-preg and had to cut it out in the 1st tri. since my 2nd tri. i have been walking and using the elliptical for like a 1/2 hr. to 40 min. most days of the week and it makes me feel 100x better-not only physically but mentally too! hope it helps to get me in shape faster after the birth! Re: Working out

Good for you! I'm just starting out in my pregnancy, but I know what you mean about feeling like yourself.

I would like to get some exercise, but I'm in the first trimester and I'm exhausted most of the time. It's all I can do to haul myself to work and go home, so I haven't been working out. I do walk at least half an hour each day from my house to the train, from the subway to work, etc., so I suppose that is something.

I'm hoping I have more energy again in the 2nd trimester and can start working out again.

I used to go the gym all the time before I was pregnant... but all of a sudden I cant get my self to get up at all but I heard that after the 1st Tri you get a burst of energy again... I actually attempted to go the gym today and it actually made me feel better....

I'm waiting for my second trimester burst of energy! It's not coming. My m/s is not going away either. I miss exercising so much, I'm just watching myself turn mushy. The treadmill is waiting and so is the track as soon as spring really arrives!!!

Re: Working out

i have been too pooped to get on the treadmill but hopefully now that the second trimester is almost hear the fatigue will disappear. DH says walking is fine but i want to jog = i don't think walking tones anything = not for me at least.

Re: Working out

I am so happy that I started working out again when I finally felt better. I just do 30 min of low impact and then some light weights, but I feel so much better!!!
