furniture out the window?
Did anyone have to have their moving company remove an item through a 2nd story window? When Macy's delivered our sectional, one piece of it came in through the window. I'm dreading calling around for estimates now for a mover.... did anyone have this happen to them and if so, did you pay dearly for it when you moved??

Re: furniture out the window?
yeah, our bedroom set was put in through a second story window.
Dh, and some of his buddies and my dad got it out the same way it got in, without the movers.
you could always call macys and see if u can 'rent' one of those guys for the day!

Re: furniture out the window?
I just had this problem on Thurs. I don't have a sectional but when I bought my couch it was very hard to get through the door. The movers tried for 2 hours but couldn't get it out the door or the window!!!!!! They ended up taking a piece off (I figured why not - otherwise it wasn't coming out!) It looks brand new now - and I didn't have to buy a brand new couch!

I had to have an arm removed from my regular couch to get it into/out of my old apartment. The first time, a professional did it but, last time, one of DH's friends was able to figure out what was done and take it apart and put it back together again.

Re: furniture out the window?
I think this is pretty common - so let me reassure you.
DH and I live in a 2nd floor apt building and when we got our couch delivered over the summer, they had to hoist it up over the balcony through the sliding glass doors. it was too long to fit through the front door and make a quick turn up the stairs. I have heard that because they're making furniture bigger now, this is pretty common.
