we lived there in a new construction home before we moved down here to FLorida..plan on moving back to that area most likely.what did you want to know about it?
two school districts- Longwood and South Country..

Well I know I dont wanna be in longwood SD- but this prob wouldnt be long term...
I guess what the general area is like- good? bad?

yes Longwood isn't a great SD
we loved the area we were in...which was South Country SD..it was off of Gerard Road near the park..off of exit 67 LIE...very peaceful and large properties..yet close enough to everything..alot of new homes in the surrounding area..

Well, some parts are nice, the area near CEW elementary and the fire station are good, some nice old houses and new construction.
Then you get to the area near Gordon Heights, which you should avoid. Theres also the area near a jail and police station, I would avoid that area too.
Theres also East Yaphank, which is off of exit 68 on the LIE. Some parts are ok but overall its an iffy area.
The parts of Yaphank that are in South Country SD I don't know too much about, but my Aunt lived there for 4 years and liked her neighborhood.

I live in Yaphank by CEW school and I love it there. the houses are old but very cute. we love our neighbors. the school district is not the best but it's certainly not the worst. I went there and I have alot of friends who are teachers there. it's just a big school with many different kinds of people in it. Overall i really like Yaphank.
