They are KIDDING me.....

We are scheduled to close on Tuesday. The walk through was scheduled for Monday afternoon. DH and I had planned to spend Easter Sunday cleaning the house so it would be ready for the walk through.

We moved this past week- so the old house is a MESS- dog and cat hair everywhere, we haven't Swiffered, let alone washed the floors. The upstairs shower is a mess- and there are papers, and other items that need to be tossed out. There's also a few more things we were going to bring to the new house on Sunday as well (vaccuum, couple of boxes, etc).

Regardless- the place is a disaster....

Our agent just called me- the buyer and the buyer's agent would like to move the walk-through to TOMORROW because they each have PLANS for Easter and would rather not have to rush back to Maryland to do the walk through on Monday.

W T F?! We have a baby shower in VA tomorrow, and I'll be damned if I'm driving up there tonight to straighten that place up (it's supposed to snow).

This walk through has been scheduled for a flippin' MONTH.... NOW they decide it's not CONVENIANT?!?

I told my agent that if they want to do it- then that's fine.... but to warn them that the houselooks like sh!t.

I am so embarrassed....

That sux.....sometimes people need to realize that their schedules can't be forced on other's - at least they've been warned and they can't complain.

I would have told them no, they can stick to the original date or do it Tuesday before the closing. If they see it's a mess they may try to withhold a certain amount in escrow to insure it is "broom clean" as it's supposed to be. Since they'll be seeing it as a mess they may want assurance that it's been cleaned up. Would it be worth the cost to try and get Merry Maids in there to just pick up and toss papers, vacuum, etc.? Then you wouldn't have to come and do it yourself.

I spoke to my agent last night and he told me that it wouldn't be a problem- that we can't be held accountable because of their actions. It's in all the papework that walk-through is supposed to be Monday- if they choose to come earlier, so be it, but the "official" date is Monday.

We are still going to go tomorrow to clean it up regardless. If the buyer wants to check it out before the closing he's welcome to.

Considering the hassle this buyer and his agent have put us through (there have been a number of other little issues, namely on the buyers REA part)- the last thing I'm going to do is pay someone to clean.

Thanks for the support ladies- it's just a few more days and I am rid of the whole thing!
