Does anyone know anything about Hawley Pennsylvania?
My stepbrother bought land and is building a house there, he currently lives and owns a house in seaford and is moving next year. Im curious if anyone is familiar with that area? good or bad? thanks

I know nothing about the area except that it's close to the Poconos...and I'm about 45 minutes from there in Bethlehem, PA.
Why is your stepbrother moving? I've heard mixed things about the Poconos...some areas are not the greatest.

Is it near there? they were saying its way up north like youre almost back in new york?
My uncle lives in the poconos in east straudsburg and he loves it, it is beautiful there too he is up in the mountain in winona lakes in marshalls creek near shawnee.
oh forgot to reply to they are moving b/c they cant afford to stay here anymore with the second baby on the way and she is a SAHM.

Did they do any research on the area? Have you ever visited there before? I've been to the Poconos but can't say I've ever been in Hawley. I'm sure their area is fine...

There is a FANTASTIC resort there by the name of Woodloch Pines!! Went there every summer and winter vacations as a kid!!

Ohhhhhh then I know a lil about the area, I had a few patients that bought homes in woodlock pines, so it must be a good area! thanks!!! good to know!

Yes! Not only do I know Hawley, but my parents have a house at Woodloch Springs. We have been going to Woodlock Pines (the resort) for over 20 years. They were one of the first 12 people to buy a house in the complex and bought it before anything was built. Woodloch is really the major draw to Hawley. There is a little town. There is also the Settlers Inn which is a really nice hotel. It aslso has a great restuarant. There is another restaurant owned by Woodloch call the Boat House which is good. Personally, I would not want to live there permanently because there is not enough to do. However, it is not totally desolate.

i've also heard of hawley through woodloch pines. my family has been going there for labor day weekend for about 17 years now. i've driven through the town of hawley a few times when i was coming from college to woodloch pines. it's a really small town. it doesn't seem like there'd be much to do in that area, but it seemed like a nice town. good luck to them!
