all I know is that if I were taller than my DH to begin with, I wouldn't wear anything more than a small heel when I was out with him. ESPECIALLY if I were a celeb! I think it makes them both look ridiculous!

As a tall woman I disagree with that, although I may be in the minority here. I think when women wear flats just so they aren't taller than their man it looks so obvious that it's silly. For example, Petra Nemkova and James Blunt at the Oscars or Grammys or some award show - the pics were posted on this board - she would have looked a LOT better IMO had she just gone all out with the heels.
I think Tom Cruise wearing the lifts looks sillier - we all know he's short so who is he fooling? I say embrace it!

Ditto!!! Coming from another tall woman! Nothing more unflattering than a tall chick in flats b/c she's embarrassed by her height.
It takes a real confident man to be with a taller woman.  (and they tend to be quite proud when they're out with their "chicks".  )

I didn't say she should only wear flats, but there are heels, and then there are the 4" ones (at least) that she's wearing.
I am not super tall, but I am 5'7" and my DH is 5'9". I don't like wearing high heels because I don't want to be taller than him. and he doesn't like it either. I guess to each his own.

I agree with you both - I had a friend who was over 6ft and thought nothing of wearing 3 inch heels and I always admired her for that.
I think it might be what she's wearing here - something about the blouse and skirt make her legs look super long. Also, I think they went to so much trouble to hide the fact that she was so much taller than him (ie the wedding pics!) in the beginning - but I guess you can't beat her down forever! Unless of course maybe the Church of Scientology deems it appropriate that a man should cut his wife's feet off at the ankle if she's taller than him

I'm 6'1" and DH is 5'10" and I generally won't wear anything lower than a 3". I just don't like the aesthetics of shorter dress heels on most women. And you can imagine my feelings on flats.
