Looks great but I just can't justify spending that much on a stroller...

Re: Bugaboo Strollers??

They run about $800 new, close to 1K if you get the accessories like fake fur liner, sunscreen, etc.

Re: Bugaboo Strollers??

baby gaga website ranked them topnotch for AWD-terrain capability, durability, safety, a smooth ride. Apparently they are wonderful city strollers for those that don't use a car much.

I think this puts it perfectly.

They are beautiful, and VERY popular in Manhattan, but I think that for the price tag (cheapest I've seen is $729Chat Icon ) and the fact that we drive everywhere, it really wasn't the choice for us.

Re: Bugaboo Strollers??

I live in Manhattan and just ordered the Bugaboo Frog Stroller ($729) last week. I won't be driving anywhere, just walking with the stroller everywhere so I wanted something that was a smooth ride, easy to push, lightweight, etc. If I lived in the suburbs I wouldn't have gotten one. They also have the Bugaboo Gecko for $679.

The bugaboos come with both the bassinet and the toddler seat so I know if I got the Peg Perego for $300 and then bought the infant car seat to go with the stroller for $220, it would be $520 so I figured what's a little more when I tried them both out and preferred the bugaboo.

Re: Bugaboo Strollers??

I have one, its super light (17 lbs, just a little bit heavier than a lightweight umbrella stroller) and it drives like a dream. Unfortunately as I have gone back to work I am not using it as much as I did when I was on maternity leave.

I live in an Urban(ish) area and when I was on mat leave I probably walked a mile or two a day to go everywhere and it really does turn on a dime. It is in two pieces but its super easy to put togehter, I had the car seat clips and I used my car seat on it until my little boy grew out of the car seat. I also did use my car 2/3 times a week and I had no problem getting it in and out.

I also now lovely my Maclaren Techno Classic. But for someone who walks alot, the Bug is an ideal choice.

I was not paid by Bugaboo for this endorsement.

This was my mom's friends rationale...by the time you get done buying the different strollers & such you end up spending almost as much. It still seems like a lot of $$ though. But heck, if someone wants to get it for me, I'll gladly accept it! Chat Icon

This is why we're getting one too. We're still going to buy a carseat and adaptor for it for when we use out car and travel.
