Does this happen before you go into labor?

I have had about 2-3 people ask me this weekend if I had the baby yet. Meaning it didn't strike them that I was immensely pregant at 9 mts... One of them told me I was looking smaller, so thats why she asked....

Is that possible?

Also, I noticed the baby has migrated to the right side of my body - when I lie down you can see the baby lump on my right side (which always triggers me into singing - my humps, my humps, my lovely baby lump...)

I refuse to answer any of your questions until you post that you cleaned the kitchen for 2 solid hours. [yes, i did that the night i went into labor]


Like I said in my previous post, my belly measurement shrank a lot the week before I had DD!

I'm not nearly at the point where I can speak from experience but I thought the baby "drops" at some point so maybe it dropped into a lower area that people cant see as well. You are still SO tiny! Looks like you are pushing out your belly in your avatar too! Lucky!

I dropped with my first, my clothes fit differently and it did feel like i got smaller-maybe cause baby is deeper in the pelvis who knows.

Hang in there, I can promise you, you won't be pg forever-the last couple weeks are the worst! I am a control freak and i felt the exact same as you!!

I scheduled my induction for the day DD came on her own at 39w4ds. I wound up going into labor the day before being only a fingertip dilated and 50-60& effaced. You never know!!

I suppose it wouldn't be unusual for someone to ask if you'd had the baby if he'd changed positions/dropped a bit and you were looking smaller. I was reading that generally you'll still look like 6 months pg after the having the baby at first. My guy has been on my right side the entire pregnancy. When I lay down, I have a mountain on the right and a steep slope on the left. When I go to get up and my stomach muscles stretch over my belly, you can basically see the outline of his side. Everytime I look in the mirror, my belly button is totally off to the left too.

I looked 6 months PG until I was about 6 weeks postpartum

I would say that the baby is getting into position!
