What is Quad testing?
I already had the ultrascreen, and at my following regular visit, the doctor said at the next visit I would have the Quad test done. What is that and how do they test for it? Thanks.

Re: What is Quad testing?
It is a blood test that tests levels of hormones and other things in your blood as an indication for whether your baby may have spina bifida or a chromosomal disorder (ones that are not detected by the ultrascreen).
I think you should ask your dr. to explain it to you though- what it is, what it detects and what is done if something is detected because it is an optional test that I iwas told has a very high false positive rate. ALso, it is only a screening test so if it does indicate something may be wrong - you would have to go to an amnio to know for sure.
Hope this helps

I don't think an amnio is the next step I think it's a sono.

I think you would get a sono yes, but, my dr. told me that a sono cannot confirm the absence or presence of a chromsomal abnormality - the only way to do this is through an amnio - at least that is what I was told.
ETA: He also said that anything that could be detected with a sono would likely be picked up at the Level II.
