So, my RE gave me the boot.
.......because it is time to take my pregnancy to my OB/GYN. I had a sono yesterday. I was at 6wks 6days (so, 7 weeks today). We saw a fetal heartbeat. RE was very happy. He admitted that he was a little bit concerned a few weeks ago because he saw a probable fibroid in my uterus and he was not sure, at the time, where the embryo had implanted.
It sort of feels like I still belong under the care of the RE. I got a few parting gifts--some pregnancy and baby magazines that my RE's office was getting rid of (all recent months, too).
I see the nurse practitioner at my OB's office next week.
I still want sticky dust and and I am constantly for the amazing ladies here on the IF board. I hope I do not seem to be "in your face" with my recent BFP. I'm just really comfortable talking on the IF board, maybe because you all will hold my hand if something goes wrong.

I saw my RE until 10 weeks, but I have a history of miscarriages.
I'm sure you'll be fine. Congrats and goodl luck.

I don't think that my RE really had any obligation to monitor me because of how my situation went. On the day of my consult, I found out I had suddenly gotten pregnant without treatment. I have a history of gyn surgery and it took a loooooooong time to get pregnant and those were the reasons that he did monitor me until now. However, I had no IF testing or treatment from his office.
My biggest fear from all of this is that someone will hear my story and use me an an example of ,"see I told you it would happen if you just relaxed." That is hogwash, ********, etc.

Re: So, my RE gave me the boot.
Congratulations again. If it makes you feel more comfortable talk to your Obgyn and maybe they can monitor you a little closer than usual. Everything will be okay

Re: So, my RE gave me the boot.
Congratulations!!!! I am very happy for you
Once my pregnancy was confirmed via sono & beta testing I was passed from my RE to a high risk dr. I currently see the high risk in a ddition to an ob/gyn. ( I have other factors aside from my difficulty TTC)
I felt the same way as you, didn't want to leave my RE because I felt I wasn't ready- there was such an element of trust etc.
I totally know how you feel
Congratulations again to you!!!!

Is that really a choice I could make on my own? I don't need referrals with my insurance but I would think that there are guidelines for which patients the high risk doctors accept--like maybe ACOG guidelines. At any rate, I go to see the nurse practitioner at my gyn's office next week. I'm pretty confident in nurse practitioners and I know that I will see my doctor on the visit after that one.
