Re: Westbury?
depends where
Westbury/ westbury school district isnt good at allin my opinion
Westbury/ salisbury schools/ dont know about the area
Westbury/Carle Place Schools/ i live here. I live a block away from old westbury. High taxes though. My parent pay 10-11k. Great small schools (average of 100 per grade). Lots of McMansions popping up

Re: Westbury?
i live in westbury and i love it! its convenient to everything...malls, parkways, LIRR, etc. very different sections of westbury though...
westbury/westbury SD - alot of different areas, there's new cassel (not great! one of the areas you dont want to get lost in at night!!!), breezy hill (large italian following - most are families that originated in Durazzano, Italy and moved to NY back in the 70's. its located across the street from St brigids Church and is between ellison ave and post ave and runs up to maple ave), West Village - (this is where i live and its great! its the area that is north of maple ave and west of post ave), east village (not as nice as west village), poets corner (a very "mixed" neighborhood with a large latino following - just north of old country rd and east of school st)...ideally, if you have to be in westbury and westbury SD, definitely look in west village!
westbury/carle place SD - great area! taxes are still decent if you look at the area off of old country rd (across the street from the source mall). but alot of the houses that were built in this area are on the small side and alot are only 2 bedroom houses.
westbury/east meadow SD - this is where i grew up and the SD is great! this consists of the "salisbury estates" area and the "salisbury" area. obviously the estates area has bigger houses. the only thing about the salisbury area is that about 90% of the houses dont have basements. so if you MUST have a basement you'll have alot of trouble finding one here. elementary school is within walking distance and high school is WT Clarke and is just for kids who live in this area!
all in all, i love westbury!!!

Re: Westbury?
east meadow has always been a good district, but recently the superintendent has been giving the teachers, students AND residents a hard time. (He told a resident to move if they didn't like what he did)
there have been some posts on here if you search - some of the teachers might be able to tell you more.
just food for thought
