Does or has anyone

ever tried tinting or coloring grout AFTER the tile has been laid???

We chose a dark tile for our kitchen - the display when we bought it showed the tile witha dark grout. DH (Love him butsometimes he needs to trust me in choices...Chat Icon) didn't like it so he decided he was going to use a light grout...it doesn't look right at all...it stands out too much and I hate it...

Now we are in the process of choosing a counter-top and the grout on the floor is throwing everything off - I know that sounds crazy but it is.

Has anyone heard of doing this or has anyone done this?

Re: Does or has anyone

my sister did it recently - it turned out great.

She loved the color of the grout when it was wet, but when it dried it was too light. So she stained it darker, and then sealed it.

Do you know what product she used? and where she got if from? I checked both Home Depots near me and they didn't have anything for AFTER the grout was dried...only to mix in with the grout...

she got it at Home Depot, and it was done after the tile was laid. She said it was simply a "grout stain" in the grout sealing aisle.
