Consumers Fence
Anyone use them before? What was your experience like with them? Are they a good company to use?
I have the sales guy coming by on saturday.

We used Rose Fence and were really happy with them. We got about 4 quotes and they came in the lowest and were able to do a saturday install for us. We live in Lynbrook and did not get a permit (shhhh) so we insisted on a saturday install to avoid any issues - once the fence is up here they dont' say anything so all is well.

FYI
Rose says they wont match prices, but my salesman did. Keep that in mind, we really wanted to use Rose but they were a *tad* more $$$ but we asked, and they matched.

Even though Consumer Fence gave us the best price so far, I will not be using them. I looked on the BBB and within the past few months they have over 15 complains, and most of them being from quality and service.
I did a little research into it and found out that they will not pick up the phone if you call in for service, or they just do not call you back.
Also the quality of the PVC fences that they use are not as great as other companies may use.
I am still waiting to get estimates from Rose and Calrs fence, who are both coming tomorrow to my house.
I am leaning towards precision fence from Bohmia. They did my neighbors house and did an excellent job.
Their price is about average that I have been seeing, and I know my neighbor did his homework when he was hunting down a fence company.

I had consumers come over for a quote last year and the guy wouldn't give me a price, he wanted me to call him back after someone else gave me a quote first. Obviously I never called him back. Ended up going with Rose Fencing.

Interesting. When he asked DH who we were going with and DH told him Rose, he said "have you called the Department of Consumer Affairs to check their record"?  I never even checked Consumer's record because his quote was higher than Rose's and Amendola's. Good luck with the other quotes.

Carls is REALLY pricey. I think they are smoking crack in there plus rude, I went in with my husband and we said "hi we are just looking for a rough estimate" and the guy behind the counter goes "well an estimate is rough so you just want an estimate" But he said it all matter of fact and not joking around, my husband was like "ok D**K and we walked out

Rose fence is coming this saturday for an estimate. Amendola gave us a rough estimate. They have to "swing" by to confirm.

funny, because i too did my homework....and IMO the pvc consumer offered me, compared to what other companies were offering, was far superior in quality.  plus, i showed steve the bbb report on his co (#of complaints wasn't as high as they are now  ) and told him that if i wasn't happy with the end result, he'd be twice as sorry than any of those customers with complaints on file.!!!! I guess we got lucky, because we are very happy with the end result. everything from price, service, installation, was and has been on par for us. even with the serious wind storms we've had, (and we've had quite a few that brought down some trees by me) not one panel has budged. in any event, i'm sure you'll choose the right co for you, and you'll be happy with the result.  be sure to post pics when it's all done!

I am glad that you havent experienced any issues with your fencing.
I am going to make my decision by tomorrow evening after Rose and Carls Fencing give me estimates
