Flying...do you think I can....
Fly when I am 34 weeks. I have a friedns wedding, and I feel sooooo bad if I can;t go. She is a really good friend, and was IN my wedding last year. I am just afraid that I will get the tickets, but then wont be able to fly, any thoughts?
PS I am only 9 weeks right now, but the tickets are DIRT cheap.

Ask you doctor and check with your airline. Some airlines require a notarized letter from your doctor starting at 34-36 weeks.
My doctor told me I could fly up to 30 weeks but I've heard others say longer.
How long would the flight be?

Re: Flying...do you think I can....
I'd call your doctor and the airline.
I believe that most don't want you flying that late tho
But like I said, call your doctor first and if she gives you the green light, call the airline.
Good luck!
ETA: A lot of doctors don't even want you driving more than a hour away from the hospital starting at 35-36 weeks, so I think 34 is cutting it a bit close. Insurance companies are a factor in this as well.

Re: Flying...do you think I can....
I feel SO guilty, but at the same time, if anything happened to the pregnancy, I would never forgive myself for pushing it.
I'll check with Doc before making a final decision, it's a 2 hour flight, I'll make the calls, and see what happens, Thanks You!

My doctor doesn't even want me to leave LI after 32 weeks. The whole summer, I can't go anywhere.

34 weeks is late. Where is the wedding. I would ask and call the airline to see what the policy is.

Re: Flying...do you think I can....
I honestly don't think I'd feel comfortable flying at 34 weeks even if the doc said it was okay.

I will just wait and see I think. she will totally understand if I do not go, I'll send a really nice gift. It's just not worth risking babies health.

Re: Flying...do you think I can....
A lot of airlines don't allow it, regardless of what your doctor says. Google it and it will tell you what airlines have what rules.

Re: Flying...do you think I can....
My Dr. told me no flying after 28 weeks but she said it's mainly because not all airlines allow it. Even a two hour flight you will still need to get up and walk around and drink alot of water.

Re: Flying...do you think I can....
I would wait and see - even if your dr says yes - the pilot has the right to deny boarding - and you can't hide your belly at 34 weeks

Re: Flying...do you think I can....
If I remember, my doc said no flying after 36 weeks, but he said that is primarily so that you aren't too far away if you go into labor. He said that flying would not harm the pregnancy in any way. Good luck.
