Re: yet another BF ??
Well..it depends on what you need it for? Are you needing it for occasional pumping if you are going out?
DO you plan on exlusively pumping or will be pumping when you go back to work?
If you are using it to pump while you are at work most moms us the Medela Pump in style. It comes with the bag to carry it . The Ameda Purely yours is a cheaper alternative and has a closed system for sanitary purposes (like a rental pump)
Most people if they are exclusively pumping/keeping up their supply uses a rental pump. They are the strongest/most powerful ones they have.
Some people for occasional pumping uses a manual one but I don't find them powerful enough and recommend the electric dual pumps.

I really really liked my Medela single pump. It was the electric kind that ran off batteries or you could plug it in. I plan on using it again this time!

Yes..you can get them through lactation consultants and these are the ones they have in the hospital . These are the most powerful.

Hospital have the rentals and so does BRU in Westbury.
I plan on renting mine first to see how it goes then buy a Medella Pump in Style.
I talked to several people and they do advise to see how BF goes before making such an investment.
FYI on pumps.... they told that having a "cheap" manual one and keep it in the car is not a bad idea in case you get stuck somewhere and need to pump your milk to avoid engorgement.
