My GD update

So I met with the specialist today. He said my daytime numbers are excellent and that I can "experiment" a bit with what I am eating.

My morning number is still not where they want it. So I am going to try taking a pill before bed and see if that helps.

Thought I was having a sono but didn't.

thats great that you are able to take a pill, I wasnt given that option.
I dabbled with food too, to see just what I could and couldnt eat during the day and what would and wouldnt raise my sugar.
they dont always do a sono, sucky I know. they did 1 at the beginning, 2 when I was in the hospital( for the insulin) and then 2 before I gave birth. that was it, not many. I think if the numbers get out of control they will do more sono's to see if baby is getting too big.

He gave me the Insulin option but why do that if the pill works. I have till my next appt to get the am number down or insulin it is.

i am so jealous... they won't let me try the pill before i go to bed, that is the only number i can't control everything else is great except that one.. so on monday i start bedtime shots of insulin...

Nicole- ugh I know how you feel, I had to take Regular 8 units before dinner, and 25 units of NPH before bedtime.
how many units do you have to take and what kind of insulin?
