Lookup Ins # and License #?
Hi
Does anyone know a site to lookup the license # and insurance # of a given contractor, painter, electrician, etc. I want to do some research on a few people.

Thanks so much for that info. My dad does it all for us but sometimes we needed a tree service , electrician, etc and I want to make sure they are on the "up and up".

you can call Consumer affairs in whatever county you are in & give the company name & they'll tell you if they have had any complaints. LOTS of contractors have valid Licenses & insurance but have complaints pending out the wazoo.

There are some contractors out there who, for a variety of reasons, work under other's license numbers.
If they mostly do business in conjunction with one another we didn't question it but when we asked a few to produce their paperwork we were faxed over licenses for completely unrelated companies.
This sent up a red flag for us and we passed on them.
Just something else to be on the lookout for.
