NY Water
Anyone know the phone number for NY Water company?
My friend says this is who I am supposed to call to get the water service for my house on the day we get the keys.
Is this the company or is it something else? Thanks, Scott

I *think* that there are multiple water authorities across LI. Can your lawyer ask the owner's lawyer, or maybe you know someone who lives in the neighborhood?

Re: NY Water
How exciting!! Just make sure that you "pick up" the service from the date that you move in so that the sellers pay their own right up until! =)
Good luck! This is all very exciting!

OH, I forgot to mention that you should ask the sellers who they used for oil and see if they still have a contract with them and for how much per gallon. If it's a good price, you may be able to pick that up as well.

Re: NY Water
I have to start the water from the day we get the keys. Since we are getting the keys the day we close, that is when I am starting the service.
Right now prices of oil are crazy, but slowly declining. From what I heard you cannot lock in a rate from an oil company right now.
I am going to call the water company, and LIPA to set them up, and I am also going to call for oil quotes today.... Scott
