What's on your walls?
What type of art or decorative pieces do you have on your walls in your house (any and all rooms)? More importantly - where did you get it?
Is it mostly framed photos or art pieces?

Re: What's on your walls?
we are extremely lucky to have very talented artist friends. We have artwork in every room - almost none that we paid for.

Re: What's on your walls?
In the kitchen we have a decorative mirror from Pier 1.
We framed our wedding invite and hung it in the master bath. Going up the stairs is our framed ketubah. We also have some artwork we bought on our HM.
In the den is a framed poster. It's a vintage cigar ad...DH is into that stuff. It came from ebay.

Re: What's on your walls?
Since I have a few family members who are artists, I try to commision them when I can! But, when I can't, I like framed maps and paintings when I can.
Here is the spare room/office (Red room) w/ a framed map, and in the desk cubby, a painting of me when I was 3 (done by my great-aunt). In the kitchen I have three paintings (one by my deceased grandmother, a small watercolor by my grandfather and some trees I drew to fill in the frame on the smallest...I am still waiting for someone to paint me a real pic to put in there!).
ETA...I got the map at Marshalls for $60 (it's huge!). It had a crack in the glass. I replaced the glass and the glass place around the corner from me for $40. I looked online, and for $100 - I got a framed piece that is worth at the least $260! I was so proud of myself Image Attachment(s):

Re: What's on your walls?
The thing that stands out the most is our Thomas Kinkaide piece in the LR. It is WAY to big for the space, but we bought it as a 1st Anniversary gift to each other knowing we will not live in a basement aprtment forever!
The rest is random pictures on shelves in LR & the kitchen has some decorative small wall plagues from Target & shelves with things on them!

Re: What's on your walls?
in our kitchen we have 2 pictures that i got at BB&B, one is of a wine bottle and glass, one of an outside cafe. they are paintings on canvass.
in our living room, we have this scroll-type thing made of material and it is embriodered with the "love is patient, love is kind" verse. we have 3 thomas kinkaide collectors plates hung up. 2 8x10 pictures of my neices and nephew in wooden frames. and our 20x24 framed wedding pic will go above the tv when we get it.
upstairs hallway, a huge thomas kinkaide painting, framed. we bought 2 at an auction last year. we have the winter scene up now, we have another one to switch to in the spring. they are both framed, but we'll leave the winter one up nov-march then the other april-oct. we also have a small painting on canvass that i got from BB&B of a couple walking along a river in the rain. and we also have 2 of our e-pics framed, one on each side of the bathroom door in the hall.
our bedroom - we have a wooden plaque over the bed that says "always kiss me goodnight". when we get our pics back from our photographer, we are going to hang up some framed wedding photos in the bedroom. all of us kissing
computer room - this round wooden plaque that has a heart carved out in the middle and it says "always and forever, no matter what".
my mom is embriodering us a picture that we will frame and put at the bottom of our steps when she's done, it's of a bride and groom and it will have our names and our wedding date.
and again, when we get the pics back from the photgrapher, we are going to frame some pics and put them along the wall up the steps - they will be from our wedding day, but all of our family and friends.

not much. we're still in the process of painting and decorating.... but most of our art comes from DH and his family.
