Re: How to get nourished

try to eat whatever you find appetizing and appealing to you.

The baby really doesn't eat what you eat during the 1st trimester. He/she will live off of your vitamin/food/fat stores. Try to take your vitamin and eat/drink whatever you can.

I know I retain water very easily too, even 1st trimester.

Try to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day, I know that sounds weird when you are retaining water, but the extra water will flush it out.

yes...and just eat what you can...i worried for a while [with my first] but figured this has been happening for 1000s of years, surely the human race would've died off if PG women and their babies received NO nutrition at all because of morning sickness. i found that time that junk food was my best friend...maybe not the healthiest, but i figured something was better than nothing!

Force yourself to drink water.

Eat what you can. Anything is better than nothing.

Re: How to get nourished

Dont even worry about it. I went 4 days with nothing but gingerale in me. And That happened on more then a few occasions.

I was told over and over again. The baby would thrive even if I ate nothing for 4 more months but liquids and some vitamins.

The baby will take all it needs from you liek Kate said, making you feel awful but making sure the baby survives.

Re: How to get nourished

I couldn't eat for the whole 9 months with my first pregnancy. I took my vitamin daily and occasionally tried to have a vanilla shake from McDonald's (it was the only thing I could keep down). I wound up losing 45 pounds with that pregnancy.
But the baby (who will be 5 years old next week Chat Icon ) was just fine. He took what he needed from me in order to develop.

Re: How to get nourished

When I went through this I tried to force down whatever I could stomach. Even though it was pizza or soup many times Chat Icon

Re: How to get nourished

My dr. said to eat what I could even if it wasn't the healthiest of foods. Luckily I was able to keep fruit and yogurt down, chocolate puddings, jello. Try and stay hydrated. Anything is better than nothing for you and the baby.

Re: How to get nourished

I am struggling w/ M/S also. My doc told me to eat whatever I want and to not worry. I am very petite so I was worried about my weight but my doc said not to.

Re: How to get nourished

i'm in the same boat over here. just trying to eat whatever appeals to me in the moment. for a little while i was LOVING mexican food, but this morning i gagged from that too. even water is making me nauseous - i've moved onto gatorade. the saltines are treating me OK and that's about it at the moment...

i'm down 1 pound already since last week Chat Icon
