Re: gd ??
I would eat something if you feel lightheaded. Maybe your blood sugar level is too low. I think that is too much time in between breakfast and snack. My breakfast was around 8 and I had a snack around 10:30. I pretty much ate every 3 hours. Did your Dr or Dietian give you that schedule? I felt ok when I was on the GD diet, just hungry...lol

Re: gd ??
While I don't know much about GD, I have been following a low-carb lifestyle for quite a few years. I can sypathize with how your feeling - when I first started it was rough and I felt the same way.
My advice - since this ultimately benefits your child's well-being - would be to not "eat regular" but rather allow yourself more low-carb/sugar snacks until you have a chance to speak to your doctor about this. Maybe try to take in some more protein - vegtables will help too.
Good Luck!

Re: gd ??
103 isn't bad at all. I would watch what you eat, don't go eating a bag of cookies or anything...lol, and wait to see what the dietian says on Thursday. I had days that I was over 115 but if I remember correctly, 103 isn't bad at all!!! I would not follow that diet that was given to you. If they are telling you to eat breakfast 6:30 then nothing until 10? that is crazy!

Re: gd ??
I don't have GD but I do have insulin resistance. If I go too long without eating or not eating enough protein I feel like you do.
I don't think a bowl of cereal and milk alone is enough - I know they used to tell me to eat something more with protein - how about a small egg beater omlette with the cereal and milk?
If you are feeling tired and lightheaded it sounds like it could be low blood sugar - I would call you doctor and or eat a small amount of some protein. I wouldn't go back to your old diet though.
Do a google search there are a lot of sites that offer meal suggestions etc - you want to make sure you eat a balance so as not to spike and lower your blood sugar.

Re: gd ??
Like the pp said, have some protein. When I was on the GD diet, I couldn't have cereal for breakfast. I had eggs and a Thomas' multigrain light english muffin or I had some cottage cheese and the english muffin.
Hopefully the Dr gives you some help.

Re: gd ??
Can you get a hold of some carrot sticks - those are supposed to be okay to snack on and can hold you until you hear from the dr.

Re: gd ??
you def need to eat protein at every meal- that will help regulate your blood sugar- if you eat cereal- your sugar will spike and fall...

Re: gd ??
Me too, I feel much worse since I have been following this stupid diet. I felt much better when I was eating whatever, even though my sugar may have been high.

Re: gd ??
5 rice cakes sounds like a small snack? No protein added to that snack??? that doesn't sound right? Even my 10pm snack I was suppose to add a protein or fat with it...if I remember correctly from my last pregnancy.
Have you met with the nutritionalist? If you haven't I would just keep low carb as much as possible until you meet with her. Don't worry about timing and such esp if you aren't even testing your blood yet. I waited to start my diet until I met with the nutritionalist and really understood what was going on and what to do. I know for me I was starving all the time on my diet plan....unfortunately my nutritionalist was a nazi only told me to add more veggies. I know I needed more meat/protein. Luckily my high risk ob ordered me not to talk to my nutritionalist and to spike here and there since my numbers were sooo sooo low under the diet plan. I only spiked twice and cheated here and there and still barely spiked. Once you understand what you should be eating and get your numbers under control - you can start playing a bit and figure out what you can and can't eat.

Re: gd ??
You need to make sure that you have protien at every meal.. even if it means having a t-spoon of peanut butter with the rice cakes...
Are you testing you blood 4 times a day? this is how you will know if you have a proper blood sugar
