Who wants to help me with my nursery?!?!
So with less than 9 weeks left to go, you'd think I'd have this figured out by now, but I dont. Here's my big dilemma:
We don't know what gender we are having. The carpet that is already in the baby's room is a dark-ish blue. We are going to leave it there. I can't make up my mind on a bedding set because part of me wants to wait until the baby is born and go with more gender specific bedding... But we want to paint the room before the baby comes because we don't want the baby dealing with the fumes. Do I just go for a neutral color paint, and if its a girl, just ignore the fact that the rug is blue, and add bedding that has girly colors that might clash with the blue carpet, or should I just find bedding that is neutral (I was leaning towards the Sweet Vanilla set), and that way it will not clash with the blue rug?
Anyone else have any good suggestions for me? I am stuck and we want to paint soon, but I don't even know what color to choose for that!!!!
Help!!!! I am so bad with decorating!!!

Well I'm not a Mom but I do like to decorate. If I was you I would either:
Paint the room a neutral color in the beige tan family and get neutral bedding
Consider toile-you can get blue or green and it could be for a boy or girl
Do a theme: jungle, ocean, etc.
Or p[aint the walls a pretty green or aqua.

OOHH!!! I do like an ocean idea from the above poster!!! You can put sea animals on the wall!! Then you can get gender specific once the baby is born and add pirates for a boy or mermaid for a girl.

Great idea! Also if you're not an "artist" You can paint a pretty blue on the walls and use wallies for the characters and grasses even..

I wouldnt worry about matching the carpeting - you can always find a cute, gender specific throw rug or area rug and put it down over a section of the carpeting if you like.
I grew up in the 70s - the rug in my and my little sister's room was bright orange and green in a geometric pattern - so a nice, dark blue carpet doesnt sound like a problem AT ALL to me!
