Topical creams during pregnancy???
I am almost eight weeks pregnant and have a infection under my stomach, its a yeast infection.
I got this from the birth of my daughter six years ago, it comes and goes. I was prescribed a cream Nystati and Triamcinolone acetonide cream as well as a powder for athlets foot, which can be used anywhere.
The dr said there where no risks to the baby, I read the info in the packet after applying it tonight, it said there is a risk, Websites say minimal based of amounts.
The dr prescried large amounts, because the rash is long, Anybody have any info on this medicine? Steriod?? Which i quiestioned to begin with.
I miscarried years ago, and do worry about every little thing.

Re: Topical creams during pregnancy???
I would call your Ob and tell him/her that reading the packet it said there is a risk and ask why he said there isn't a risk.Did it say what the risk is? All medications are labeled as certain risk. Like antibiotics..are level B and I was told when I was pregnant that the benefits outweigh the risks. I had a UTi and was told I needed to take the meds even though there is minimal risk. Your OB must not be worried b/c he said it is ok..just double check with OB
